This cruise was a fantastic opportunity to circumnavigate Iceland on an epic 3000 nautical mile journey. I feel some of the disappointments described for this cruise (scary experience on the tender aside) reflect the poor weather we had throughout. It seems more than a co-incidence that the previous cruise reviewed (Norwegian Fjords), made in good weather, got generally great reviews on many fronts. I feel compelled to write, because of some of the negative comments made at the staff. Personally, I found the staff to be remarkably friendly, especially given how demanding their schedules are. The evening entertainment (the shows/live music) led by Richard Sykes was outstanding. For the price, I think cruising on the Marco Polo is fabulous value for money, and punches well above it’s weight. All in all for me this was a great trip, on a lovely old traditional ship, amongst friendly passengers. I am sure if you have booked a cruise coming up, you will have a similarly marvellous time.

The comments about staff defies credibility they were terrible. I have been on about 15 previous cruises and this staff were in a class of their own, the worst. Whatever happened to the Phillipine crew? Too expensive I suppose.
